Dennis Dale Collie, 60, formerly of Dumas, began his journey with God, on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors.

Dennis was born on October 5, 1957 in Dumas to Ralph and Dale (Duncan) Collie. Dennis grew up in Dumas and graduated from Dumas High School. Dennis had worked as an electrician for the IBEW local 602. Dennis started taking musical lessons at the age of 5 which led to a love of music that lasted his entire life; he could play almost any instrument and loved to play live on stage with various bands. He loved his dogs, cooking for his friends and family and spending time with his grandchildren. You could always count on him and to have a smile on his face. Dennis “Dog” never knew a stranger and was known for his kindness. He also loved to fish and ride his motorcycle with his friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, Sharon in 2016; sister Pamela; brother: Terry.

He is survived by his children: Jeremy Turlington, Jennifer Turlington, Dylan Collie and Daniel Collie, all of Amarillo; parents: Ralph and Dale Collie of Dumas; sister: Denise Lechner and husband Harvey of Dumas; brother: Tony Collie and wife Diane of Virginia; grandchildren: Jentry, Jayden and Hudson; best friend and sister in Christ, Jackie Morris.

God bless you all for your loss. I have a lot of memories playing music in band all through school we always sat pretty close to each other and biology partners too. I went with him to hear his son play. He was sure proud of his children and grandchildren. I won’t be able to attend, but know my heart is with you all. Until we meet again...❤️
