Aaron Batman 86 passed away Sunday, June 10, 2007 in Dumas, Texas. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Turner, retired music minister of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
Aaron Batman was born July 5, 1920 in Mountain Grove, Missouri to Wesley and Ada Batman. He was in the US Army during WWII, serving from Aug. 1941 to Oct. 1945 and attained the rank of sergeant. He was in battles and campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe, in charge of artillery for anti-aircraft. On November 5, 1945 he married Bonnie Caton who preceded him in death on July 15, 2003. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1946 and had worked for Diamond Shamrock as an instrument man for 37 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: son, Steve Batman and wife, Jo Anne of Dumas; sister, Pauline Carson of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughter, Heather Batman; and great-grandson Jonathan Stephen Goodwin.
