Acena E. Christian

Acena E. Christian 85 passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 in Dumas, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2007 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Goodin officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Acena Christian was born January 10, 1922 in Electra, Oklahoma. On May 2, 1945 she married Charlie Christian who preceded her in death on January 10, 2006. She worked 25 years as the bookkeeper for the TGY department store before her retirement. Acena had been an active member of First Baptist Church for 65 years. She had been a leader of the Royal Ambassadors, was a teacher to the Beginners in Sunday School and had taken several mission trips to Mexico. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronnie Williams, Dudley Williams and Waard Williams. Survivors include; sons, Butch Weddle and wife, Sheila of Virginia Beach, VA, Dudley Christian and wife, Marilyn of Dumas; daughters, Janis Worley and husband, Larry of Owasso, OK, Susan Buller and husband, Wayne of Greeley, CO; brothers, W.J. Williams of Tulsa, OK, Bill Williams of Dumas; sister, Odeane Kight of Owasso, OK; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 1535, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 1422 Fox in Dumas.
