Allen Morris, 58, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 30, at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church officiating. Honor guard will be by American Legion Post 224 of Dumas. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Allen was born March 5, 1952 at Eureka, Kansas to Willis and Oleta Fae Morris. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1971 and served in the US Navy from 1976 to 1980. On June 9, 1992 he married Jackie Husser at Dumas, Texas. His hobby was motorcycles and trucks and he was known as White Owl on the CB radio. Allen worked in trucking and then in maintenance at Swift. He was the adopted vet for the ladies auxilary VFW Post 9022. He was faithful to his Lord, his family and his church. He had been a Dumas area resident all of his life and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
Survivors include his wife Jackie of the home sons, Nick Morris and wife, Carmen of Decatur, and Warren Brown and wife, Erika of Loranger, LA daughters, Mary Morris and Abbie of Seagoville, Master Sgt. Melody Ballou of Washington DC, Goldie VanLeer and husband, Chad of Portales, NM brother, George Jeep Morris of Dumas sisters, Billine Sissi Solomon of Dumas, Stacie Backhaus of Ponca City, Okla. and 7 grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Temple Baptist Church, Missions, 311 N. Maddox, Dumas, TX 79029.
The family will be at 1114 Zauk in Dumas.
