Alliebelle Phelps

Alliebelle Phelps 84 passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2007 in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, November 9, 2007 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Gary Williams, minister of the Church of Christ , Trinidad, Colorado, officiating. Burial will follow in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Alliebelle was born November 20, 1922 in Trinidad, Colorado to James M. and Grace L. Gilpin. On September 17, 1944 she married Paul William Phelps who preceded her in death on September 13, 1988. She lived in Dumas 1958-1975, Rawlins Wyoming 1965-1975, Lamar Colorado 1975-1986, returned to Dumas in 1986, and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1990. Alliebelle was a homemaker and a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Marvin Gilpin. Survivors include; son Bob Phelps and wife, Linda of Amarillo; two grandsons, Paul Phelps and wife Shannon of Easley, SC and James Phelps of Big Spring, TX; brother Orville Gilpin of Eugene, Ore; two sisters, Shirley Ann Greenhalgh and Beverly Weins both of Eugene, Ore; and three great-grandchildren.
