Alta Dene Hogan

Alta Dene Hogan 92, formerly of Sunray passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Commanche Trail Church of Christ in Amarillo. Interment will follow at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Alta was born on December 10, 1932, in Hollis, OK to Lloyd and Bertha Mae (Gallop) Duvall. She grew up in Gould, OK where she graduated from high school. Alta married James Hogan on July 24, 1982 and the couple made Sunray their home until his passing in 2016. Alta enjoyed crocheting, fishing and was a wonderful cook. She was also a big Golden State Warrior Fan with her favorite player being Steph Curry. She was a longtime member of the Sunray Church of Christ and most recently the Commanche Trail Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by husband, James, parents; sister: Alpha; brother: Travis; James’s son: Bill Hogan; grandchild: Zadina Rhyne.

Alta is survived by daughters: Denise Davenport and husband Mark of Amarillo, TX, Jana Young of Amarillo, TX, Dee Anna Clark of Hurst, TX; grandchildren: Paul Davenport and wife Libby Dignan, Dana Pierce and husband Clint, Nicole Ramos and husband David, Lindsey Reger, Macon Clark IV; 16 great-grandchildren; Bill’s wife, Susie Hogan; James’s daughters: Diane Reynolds and husband Joe, Debra Lareau and husband Mitch; grandchildren: Chad Belden, Dawn Denney, Misty Roberts, Ely Reynolds, Tessa Rude; sister: Shirley Mae Roberts and husband Bill of Amarillo, TX.

The family requests, with gratitude, memorials be made to Commanche Trail Youth Ministry, 2700 SE 34th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79103.
