Alton Jerry Gross

Alton Jerry Gross, 86 of Stratford, died Saturday, October 5, 2019. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at 10 oclock in the morning in the Stratford Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Anderson, pastor of First Assembly of God officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, from 7 oclock until 8 oclock in the evening at the funeral home in Stratford. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Alton was born August 1, 1933, in Winfield, TX, to Tom and Cone Brooks Gross. On November 26, 1955, he was united in marriage to Juanita Jean Vandiver in Dalhart, TX. He owned and operated a ditching and backhoe service. Alton was a hard worker and loved his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Juanita in 2003; son, Edwin in 2007; two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include: two daughters: Alta Scott and husband, Bob of Ft. Worth, TX and Brenda Blaser of Keller, TX; grandchildren: Stephen Scott and wife Abbie and their children Dallas, Callen, and Hallie; Tommy Scott and wife Brittany and their children Charlotte and Ella; Ashley Blaser and Brett Blaser; step-grandchildren: Angie Scott and children Jake and Austin, Katy Stewart and husband Nick; and Kristan Collins and husband Tom and children Allie, Kelsey and Chloe; one brother Billy Gross and wife Pat of Dalhart, TX.
