Alvis G. Hinsley, 61 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Hunt Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Hight, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Alvis was born February 14, 1956 in Lubbock, TX to Billy and Yolanda (Ham) Hinsley. He was united in marriage to Rachel (Fields) on September 3, 1977 in Lubbock, TX. Alvis was a longtime resident of Dumas where he worked for JBS maintenance for many years. He was a very devoted family man and had a special place in his heart for his children and grandchildren. Alvis loved to go fishing and camping but he was well known for his work in machinery. He loved to work on race cars. Alvis liked to collect chess sets and pocket watches. Alvis loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Victoria Hinsley.
Alvis is survived by his wife: Rachel of the home, daughter: Tammy Hinsley, sons: Wilburn and wife Kim, Chris and wife Trista, and Kenneth and wife Tamara all of Dumas, his 'adopted son': David Eudy and wife McKenzie of Dumas, brothers: John and wife Carmen of Lubbock, and Tommy Hinsley of Shallowater, TX., sisters: Ida Deathridge of Lubbock and Kelly Hinsley of Amarillo, and 10 grandchildren.
