Ann Christine Cameron Singleton, 91, formerly of Dumas, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010, in Elk City, Okla. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, at the First Street Church of Christ, Saturday, October 2, with Ben Mereness, former minister of the church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Christine was born May 7, 1919, in Claude, Texas to Joseph and Dessie Stephenson Cameron. On June 1, 1939 she married Glen Otis Singleton in Antelope, Tx. Together they raised 6 boys. She spent most of her life farming. She enjoyed crocheting, needle point, cross stitch, painting, fixing baby dolls and making them clothes. Christine was a member of the First Street Church of Christ where she was a loved member. She was a resident of Stratford before moving to Dumas in 1974. She moved to Elk City in 2006 where she lived with Leon and Pat. She later moved to the nursing home where she made several friends and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband in March 1986 and 2 sons, James Maynard Singleton and Elwin Earl Singleton, and 1 granddaughter, Tina Marie Singleton.
Survivors include sons, Joseph Glen Singleton and wife, Joan of Wichita, KS, Hugh Leon Singleton and wife, Pat of Elk City, OK, David Ray Singleton and wife Annie of Evant,Tx. Norman Shirrell Singleton of Copperas Cove, Tx 7 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren.
