Antonio Tony Garcia

Antonio Garcia, 81 of Dumas, went to be with our Lord on Monday, November 23, 2020. A Rosary will be recited at 7 oclock in the evening on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Morrison Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 oclock in the morning on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Gabriel Garcia as celebrant. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family asks with gratitude that masks be worn at the Rosary and also at the Funeral Mass. Tony was born on June 7, 1939 in Logan, NM to Fermin and Nicolacita (Cordova) Garcia. On September 5, 1959 he married Efinita Gallegos. He moved his family to Dumas 43 years ago where he worked for Valero. Tony was a long-time member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where he was a 4th Degree in Knights of Columbus. He loved and will be known for his service to his church and to the community. Tony was involved in multiple organizations. He was a hospice volunteer, a member of the Lions Club, United Way, and Helping Hands. Tony will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; son: John Garcia; daughter: Cecilia Garcia; brothers: Alfred, Fermin, Steve, and Jimmy Garcia; sisters: Ramona Peachy, Rita Crespin, and Louise Ramirez. Tony is survived by his loving wife, Efinita, of the home: children: Larry Garcia of Dumas, TX; daughters: Dorothy Harkrider and husband Larry of the Colony, TX and Joanna Ovalle and Anthony Garcia and wife Amy all of Dumas, TX; Theresa Reed of Cedar Valle, KS; siblings: Joe Garcia and wife Roberta of Tucumcari, NM, Ralph Garcia and wife Virginia of Nara Visa, NM, and Lucy Garcia of Amarillo, TX, Johnny Garcia and wife Jane of Sante Fe, NM; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
