Arlie Bownds

Arlie Rawhide Bownds, 73 of Dumas, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 oclock in the morning on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Sanders, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Arlie was born July 25, 1941 in Slaton, TX to T.A. and Zula Mae Jones Bownds. On April 18, 1960, he married the lovely Dixie Clark she preceded him in death on May 3, 2014. Arlie had been a resident of Dumas since 1964 and was a lifetime truck driver. He especially loved his family and was very devoted to them. Arlie will be missed by his many friends and family. In addition to his wife, Dixie, he is preceded in death by his parents seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by two sons: Arlie Don Bownds and wife Cindy of Dumas, David Bownds and wife Kristi of Amarillo two daughters: Stacie Zirkle and husband John and Becky Perez and husband Efren all of Ulysses, KS grandchildren: Ashley Bownds, Casey Bownds, Brittney Blackshear and husband Ryan, Lyndsay Eliason and husband Howie, Logan Bownds, Chase Casados and wife Ashley, Cheyenne Derrick, Tanner Perez, and Ayston Perez a sister: Billie Johnston a brother: Donald Bownds and six greatgrandchildren.
