Bailey Woody 92 passed away Monday, March 3, 2008 in Lubbock. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 6, 2008 at First Baptist Church, Dumas, with Rev. Dan Turner, former minister of music of the church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Bailey was born July 31, 1915 in Hill County, Texas to W.I. and Willie Woody. On April 9, 1943 he married Geraldean Jerry Robison who preceded him in death in December 2005. In 1947, Bailey and his brother, Lonnie established Woody Furniture Company. He was a realtor for many years. He was a member of the finance committee and treasurer of First Baptist Church of Dumas for 50 years. Bailey served as president of the Dumas Chamber of Commerce and was active in the Dumas Lions Club. His hobbies included golf and square dancing. He had been a resident of Lubbock since 2005 and was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church. Survivors include; his son, Jim Woody and wife, Sally of Plano; daughter, Tricia Anderson and husband, Andy of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, Kelli, Julie, Trey, Jay, Kurt, Kyle, and Greg; six great-grandchildren, Justin, Reba, D.J., Paula, Britton and Lillie; and his brother, Lonnie Woody and wife, Billie.
