Barbara Henry

Barbara L. Henry, 67 of Dumas, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church officiating and Rev. Tom Wylie, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, assisting. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Barbara was born on June 28, 1949 in Amarillo, TX to A.C. and Reba (Boswell) Leonard. She was a graduate of Dumas High School and was united in marriage to Farrell L. Henry on April 12, 1968 in Dumas. Barbara was a volunteer coordinator and then the cook for Meals on Wheels for more than 20 years. After retiring, she continued working at Meals on Wheels as a volunteer delivering meals. Barbara was a member of Wolly Dollies and Temple Baptist Church. Barbara loved activities with her grandchildren, which included crafting, cooking and making curtains for them; especially vacations with her children. She also enjoyed taking long trips with her cousin Judy and Jerry. They were always filled with good times, laughter and lots of excitement. Barbara never missed any of the children's school, church or sporting events. She fought cancer for three years to see the last two great-grandbabies be born. Barbara loved the Lord and all her family more than anything. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Barbara will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents. Barbara is survived by her husband Farrell of the home; sons: Lynn Henry and wife Melissa and Chad Henry and wife Teresa all of Dumas; grandchildren; Ashley Matthysse and husband Joseph, Kasey Henry and wife Sabra, Shawn Henry and wife KC, Bubba Henry, Railey Henry, Audry Palmer, Macy Palmer all of Dumas, and Avery Smith of Amarillo; eight great-grandchildren: Kynlee, Joshua, Brailyn, Bryson, Kyler, Kyndle, Kaizlee, and Logan; sister: Cathy Myers and husband David of Plainview; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 1535, Dumas TX 79029. The family will be at 1707 Lewis.
