Barbara Ann Johnson, 58 of Dumas, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning of Friday, May 27, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Jeremy McMorris officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Barbara was born on May 16, 1958 in Lubbock TX to Leroy Sr. and Irene (Griggs) Medlock. She later moved to Oklahoma City where she graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1976. After graduation, she moved to Dumas where she worked at Valero for over 36 years. She was united in marriage to Lee Johnson Jr. on December 31, 1986 in Dumas. Barbara was very active in church. She had been a teacher for Children's Church and Sunday School for over 30 years. She enjoyed playing softball, visiting her mother and especially spending time with her granddaughter. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Dalhart. Her father and a step son, Cory Gentry, preceded her in death. She is survived by her mother Irene 'Honey Mama' Medlock of Dumas; husband Lee of the home; daughters: Takeshia Ivery of Tulsa, OK and Shakiria Ivery and granddaughter Janae Ivery of Dalhart; step children: Carolena Gentry of Fort Worth, Rickie Johnson of Amarillo, Lee Johnson III and Blake Johnson, both of Houston; brothers: Charles Holmes and wife Becky, Willie Holmes and wife Shirley, Leroy Medlock and wife Tanya, Ricky Medlock Sr. all of Amarillo; sisters: Diane McLaughlin and husband John of Amarillo and Phaedra Medlock of Dumas; many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. The family suggests memorials be made to Liberty Baptist Church Mission Fund.
