Barry Virgil McCutchan

Barry V. McCutchan, 65, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011. Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at First Assembly of God in Dumas. Rev. Shaun Searle of Ponca City, Oklahoma will be officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Mark Wallis, pastor of Life Tabernacle in Dumas and Rev. Damon Akins, pastor of First Assembly of God in Dumas. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Barry was born on July 14, 1946 in Dumas, Texas to Buster and Mildred McCutchan. He attended Dumas schools and later moved to Bovina where he graduated from Bovina High School in 1964. After graduation he served his country in the US Navy as a Yoeman. He married Denise Collier on September 22, 1967 in Dumas. They moved to Channing to farm, and then to back to Dumas from 1976 to 1990. They then moved to Alva, Oklahoma until 2004 when they moved back to Dumas. Barry worked as a Measurement Corrosion Tech for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline until his retirement in 2001 after twentythree years of employment. Barry enjoyed the outdoors, and loved to do yard work and gardening. He was very creative, working in various projects with scrap wood. He also loved to repair things around the house. He was very devoted to his family. He was of the Christian Faith. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brotherinlaw, Kirk Collier. Barry is survived by his wife, Denise of the home one son, Scott Wade McCutchan and wife Mem of Tallahassee, Florida his parents, Buster and Mildred McCutchan of Dumas one brother, Jerry Neal McCutchan and wife Doris of Dumas two grandchildren, Grant and Molly McCutchan of Tallahassee, Florida and two brothersinlaws, Bill Collier of Waller, Texas, and Gary Collier and wife Melissa of Wichita Falls many beloved nieces and nephews, and many other family members. The family suggests memorials be to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Donation Processing Center, 7 Mill Brook Rd, Wilton, NH 03086. The family will be at 112 Carson in Dumas.
