Berkley Stringer, 80, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 4, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of the church and Jori Buchenau, pastor of Grace Thru Faith officiating. A private family graveside service will be held at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Berkley was born March 15, 1930 in Hartley, Texas to Augustus Lee and Sadie Stringer. On February 14, 1952 he married Charlotte Reid Bates. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2007. He had been a resident of Dumas all of his life and was actively involved in the community and local organizations.
He was also preceded in death by his son Steven Mark Stringer in 2004.
Survivors include sons, George Reid Stringer and wife, Linda, Blake Stringer and wife, Kathy daughters, Kendra Lea Beene and husband, J. Morris, Brenda Stringer grandchildren, Kris Stringer and wife Christina, Kenley Stringer, Kevin Stringer, Tamara Stringer, Kyle Stringer, John Beene and wife Tasha, Adam Beene and wife, Laura, Dallas Stringer and wife Heather, Brock Stringer, Sydne Stringer, Avery Stringer greatgrandchildren, Camron Reid Stringer, Sarah Marie Stringer, Rachel Elise Stringer, Berkley Claire Beene, Berkley Mark Stringer, Hannah Mae Stringer, Brooklyn Paige Stringer and Dallas Jaxon Stringer sister, Margie Urban of Anaheim, CA brother, Jake Stringer of San Antionio.
The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
The family will be at 311 Mills in Dumas.
