Bernarda Zurita De Ruiz

Bernarda Zurita De Ruiz, 97 of Dumas passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Primera Iglesia Bautista with Pastor Jesus Rivera, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Bernarda was born on September 24, 1925 in Tepehuanes, Durango, MX to Mauricio Zurita and Maria De La Luz Carrasco. She had been a resident of the community for 24 years. Bernarda was a loving and dedicated homemaker. She loved to fill her time cooking, sewing and growing her flowers. Bernarda adored her grandchildren and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.

Bernarda is survived by her daughters: Teresa Ornelas of Borger, Carmen Ruiz Lara, Maria Diaz, Emma Meraz, Maria Garcia, and Yolanda R. Avalos all of Dumas; sons: Jesus Gilberto Ruiz of El Paso, TX, Abraham Heriberto Ruiz and Enrique Ruiz both of Juarez, MX; 27 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Bernarda Zurita De Ruiz, 97 de Dumas falleció el domingo 11 de diciembre de 2022. Un servicio fúnebre está programado para las 10 de la mañana del martes 13 de diciembre de 2022 en Primera Iglesia Bautista con el Pastor Jesús Rivera, oficiando.  El entierro seguirá en Northlawn Memorial Gardens bajo la dirección de Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Bernarda nació el 24 de septiembre de 1925 en Tepehuanes, Durango, México, hija de Mauricio Zurita y María De La Luz Carrasco. Ella había sido residente de la comunidad durante 24 años. Bernarda era una ama de casa amorosa y dedicada. Le encantaba llenar su tiempo cocinando, cosiendo y cultivando sus flores.  Bernarda adoraba a sus nietos y será recordada como una madre y abuela amorosa.

A Bernarda le sobreviven sus hijas: Teresa Ornelas de Borger, Carmen Ruiz Lara, María Díaz, Emma Meraz, María García y Yolanda R. Ávalos, todas de Dumas; hijos: Jesús Gilberto Ruiz de El Paso, TX, Abraham Heriberto Ruiz y Enrique Ruiz, ambos de Juárez, México; 27 nietos, 58 bisnietos y 4 tataranietos.
