Betty Sue Dodd, 67, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas. Mike Funk, a longtime family friend, will be officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Betty Sue was born on December 26, 1943 in Seagraves, Texas to Andrew and Faye Lanham. Betty grew up in Dumas and attended Dumas schools. On March 13, 1980, she married Tony M. Dodd in Dumas, where they shared their life together. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2008. Betty was the manager of the Highland Arms apartment complex in Dumas. She was a very active member of the Eagles Lodge and their activities in the community. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed listening to music. She was also a collector of Indian dolls, which she loved to display in her home. Betty was very devoted to her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Lanham, her husband, Tony, one sisterinlaw, Darlene Cecil, and great granddaughter Neveah Dailyn McClary. Survivors include six daughters, Marita Kay Slack of Clovis, New Mexico, Debbie Lam of Dumas, Dee Dee Walton and husband David of Mayfield, Kentucky, Dawn Michelle DoddSoular and husband Chris of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Toni Lynn Dodd of Las Cruces, and Robin Sweeney and husband Kevin of Plainview, Texas one son, Tommy Kent Locklear of Clovis mother, Faye Parks of Dumas, stepdad, Bill Hammer of Dumas two brothers, Andy Lanham of St. Croix and Danny Parks of Mansfield, Texas two sistersinlaw, Rosie Jeter and husband Luther of Dumas and Mary Trevino of Dalhart one aunt, Tincy Dodd of Dumas two granddaughters, Bethanie Larve and husband Jason and Haven Roys and husband Sebastian, both of Amarillo, daughter in law Sherri Nix, fourteen other grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Eagles Lodge, 314 E. 1st, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 910 E. 2nd in Dumas.
