Betty Jo McCaskill

Betty Jo McCaskill, 88 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o' clock in the afternoon on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Martin Holland of Maranatha Baptist Church, Killeen, TX, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Johnny Widener, of Bible Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. Family visitation is scheduled for 6 to 8 o'clock in the evening on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Betty was born July 20, 1928 in St. Louis, OK, to Ted and Eula (Baice) Foster. She married Elmer Hammer in 1944; he preceded her in death in 1960. In May 1973, she married Horace McCaskill in Sunray, TX; he preceded her in death in 2001. Betty enjoyed being a homemaker and collecting bear figurines. She loved listening to old Christian hymns and relished any chance to tell people about Jesus. Betty was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Dumas; she enjoyed working for her church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husbands, she is also preceded in death by her parents, and a son; Timothy Lynn Hammer. Betty is survived by her son: Ronnie Hammer and wife Brenda of Dumas; step-daughters: Linda Baxter and husband Jim of Guthrie, OK., Fonda Icke and husband Charles of Enid, OK, and Sandra Cannon and husband Laverne of Neodesia, KS.; step-sons: Clyde McCaskill and wife Laurie of Schaghticoke, NY; and Danny McCaskill and wife Jackie of Scotland; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The family suggests with gratitude memorials be made to Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 302 E 2nd St, Dumas, TX 79029.
