Bill Noel, 72, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008 in Amarillo, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 6:00 PM, Monday, August 4, 2008 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Barry Loving, pastor of First Christian Church of Pampa officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Bill was born October 24, 1935 in Whitehall, Illinois to Oliver and Mary Noel. He graduated from Dumas High School with the class of 1954. He attended college in Fort Wayne, Indiana receiving a degree in civil engineering. Bill had been a resident of Dumas for 62 years, where he was county surveyor for Moore County, an engineer for the City of Dumas and worked 44 years with Lewis Construction. He spent 5 years in Dalhart and had lived in Canyon the past year, to be near his son. Bill was a member of First Christian Church of Dumas spending several years of service with the youth department. He held a pyrotechnic license, was a member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers and loved to fish, golf, and hunt. He was preceded in death by two children, Kim and John Childress; brother, Larry Noel and sister, Helen Caudle. His survivors include; his son, Brian Noel and wife, Angie of Canyon; daughter, Nicole Watson of Texarkana; sister, Shirley Wheat of Marlow, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and many friends. Memorials may be made to, First Baptist Church, 1717 4th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015 or Special Delivery Adoption Agency, PO Box 9215, Amarillo, TX 79105. There will be family visitation at 4:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will be at 201 T-Anchor View in Canyon.
