Billie Faye Summers, 90, passed into the loving arms of our loving Lord and Savior on Friday, October 16, 2020 at her home in Dumas.
Billie, known as Grannie B to her grandchildren, was born on March 30, 1930 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Rueben and Icy Jones Cox. In June of 1949, she married Jim Bob Rachels who preceded her in death, November 1963. Billie married Dale Summers, also known as Pawpaw Dale, in January 1984 until his passing in April of 1995. Billie loved to play the piano and her family and friends will always remember her as a loving mother and a devoted grandmother.
In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Betty Nixon and Francis Howard; great granddaughter Clara Grace Howe.
Billie is survived by her two daughters: Carmella Brewer and husband Rodney and Donna Childers and husband Jerry; son, Robert Rachels and wife Sharon; two half sisters: Mary Stanfill and husband Larry and Susan Cox. Grannie B is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her loyal companion of 14 years, her maltese, Izzie.
The family will hold private funeral services in Morrison Memorial Chapel with interment taking place in Northlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers from Memorial Hospice for their loving care throughout Billie's illness.
