Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Henry, 84 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Watson, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
Bobbie was born July 23, 1940, in Clayton, NM to W.A. and Gertrude (Scroggs) Starkey. She moved to Dumas where she attended school and was married to George “Bud” Henry on June 14, 1956; he preceded her in death in 2023.
Bobbie worked in school cafeterias and also was a stocker for Furr’s for awhile but her greatest joy was being a great homemaker and taking care of Bud. She sewed clothes for her nieces and nephews in her younger years and loved to plant flowers and take care of her yard. She also enjoyed cleaning and decorating. Bobbie was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was very active. Bobbie enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking for funerals or any other event the church was hosting. For her years of service, she was recently awarded the service award by Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Lou Hisel and Rosie Mae Rash; brother: William Andrew Starkey.
Bobbie leaves behind her special niece, Lori Oliver of Amarillo, TX; special nephew, Ronnie Hisel and wife Amy along with their son of Grapevine, TX; numerous other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend, Phaedra Medlock of Dumas, TX.
