Bobby Bullington, 88 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018. The funeral service is scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Morrison Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 o'clock until 7 o'clock in the evening on Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Bobby was born on January 3, 1930 in Wellington, TX to Carl and Vassie (Ryan) Bullington. He grew up in Wellington and later graduated from Wellington High School. Bobby moved to Dumas in 1953 where he made his home. Bobby worked for Diamond Shamrock and was a first class pipefitter for 25 years and later worked in the electrical department for 15 years until he retired. He was united in marriage to Carla Bullock Dopson on November 23, 1993 in Dumas. Bobby was an excellent woodworker, making birdhouses, wagons and benches for many people. He was a Dallas Cowboy fan and had recently become a Texas Ranger fan. Bobby was a member of First Baptist Church.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Curtis Bullington; a sister: Laverne Willis; grandson: Timothy Gaines.
Bobby is survived by his wife Carla, of the home; children: Barbara Decker of Amarillo, TX, Randy Bullington and wife Darlene of Amarillo, TX, Connie Gaines and husband David of Austin, TX, Cheryl Kulhanek and husband Neil of Brenham, TX and Mark Dopson of Austin, TX; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; special friends: Chris and Risa Lusk.
