Bonita (Bonnie) McVicker Corbin 86 of Dumas passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025. A Private Graveside will be held at Dumas Cemetery. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Friday, March 7, 2025, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Price, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock to 6 o’clock in the evening on Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Born August 23, 1938, to John D and Lois (Weightman) McVicker in Dumas, Texas. Bonnie was very proud of the fact that she lived all of her 86-plus years in Dumas. She attended Dumas Public School from the 1st grade through 12th graduating in 1956. She married Stan Corbin on January 11, 1958, in the Calvary Baptist Church where she had grown up and she and Stan raised their family in that congregation.

Together, Bonnie and Stan were a mission-minded team committed to serving the Lord as charged by the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18). Several mission trips they made through the years include Taiwan, Panama, Chile and Russia. They also enjoyed a trip to the Holy Lands of Israel. For the last 40 years, Bonnie and Stan have been privileged to fellowship with people who have come from so many different parts of the world and have made their home in Dumas.

Bonnie loved people and never met a stranger, although she may have met some of them twice. She loved spending time outside working in her yard or piddling in her garage. Bonnie's motto was: There is a place for everything and everything should be in its place. Though this maxim was more of a challenge during the last few years of her life, she still endeavored to make her home comfortable for everyone who entered.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Darla Keeney; her brother, James (Buddy) McVicker; and her beloved son, Steven.

She is survived by husband, Stan of the home; sister, Dawn Gay of Amarillo, TX; brother, John Michael McVicker of Amarillo, TX; beloved daughter-in-law, Jan Corbin of Dumas, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Richard Burnett of Dumas, TX; Grandchildren: BJ and DeLane Corbin of Shallowater, TX; Lindsay Corbin of Dumas, TX; Ryan and Courtney Corbin Neosha, MO; Great-grandchildren: Tyler McCreary; Zoe and Jonathan Paredes; Zakery Corbin; Colter Corbin; Abrianna Corbin; Ethan Corbin; Great-great-grandchildren: Amelia Beth Paredes, Jada Dawn Paredes, Mila Jo Paredes and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members and friends.
