Bruce West, 58 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Temple Baptist Church in Dumas. Charles Anderson, Youth Pastor of the church will be officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Bruce was born on December 10, 1953 in Amarillo, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Dumas and a graduate of Dumas High School. Bruce was united in marriage to Janice McClary on November 23, 1973 in Dumas. He was employed as a First Class Mechanic by Panhandle Eastern, and eventually Maxus Energy until his retirement. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Bruce was devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and loved to farm. Bruce was a man of integrity, and was known as a true man of his word. He always did business with a handshake and a smile. Bruce will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Hilton, and his great aunt, Violet.
Bruce leaves behind his wife, Janice of the home one daughter, Jennifer West and husband Michael Jarrett of Idaho one son, Jason West and wife Lisa of Dumas and four grandchildren, Kady, Khloe, Sophia and Liam.
The family suggests memorials be to the Humane Society of the United States, Dept. HACEE110501001, 2100 L Street, NW, Washington, DC 20037.
The family will be at 612 Forrest in Dumas.
