Carl L. Bain, 89 of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Services are scheduled for 11 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jay McGaughy officiating. Interment will be in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Carl was born on October 3, 1926, Roger Mills County, OK to William and Eula (Phelps) Bain. He was united in marriage on May 14, 1949 to Lenora May Sprinkles; she preceded him in death. Carl served proudly in the US Navy during WWII.
Carl was a resident of Dumas for over 63 years. He loved to farm and walk his dog. Carl also took great pleasure in going for long drives especially to the mountains and Red River. He will be fondly remembered as a great storyteller. Carl was of Christian Faith and will be missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Lenora he is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson: Ron Lochart; and 8 brothers and sisters.
Carl is survived by a sister: Juanita Wolff of Wichita, KS; children: Karen Young and husband Fred of Dumas, Linda Kruger and husband Don of Durant, OK, Steve Bain and wife Shelley of Rockville, MD, David Bain and wife Toni of Dumas, and Frank Bain and wife Donna of Dumas; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
