Carl Rager Jones, 43, formerly of Dumas, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 5, at Dumas Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Wait, pastor of First Christian Church officiating. Carl will lie in state at Morrison Funeral Directors Sunday, April 4, from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Carl was born March 24, 1967 in Dumas, Texas to Louis R. and Jerilynn Jones. He attended school through the 10th grade in Dumas and then graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell. He attended Paris, TX Junior College and received his certification as a Horologist in 1989 and then received an Associates Degree from Amarillo Junior College in 2000. As a young person he was involved in Boy Scouts. He was employed at Sebo Tek as a Fonix Technician. Carl was an artist, enjoyed flying model planes and loved his dogs. He was a member of First Christian Church in Dumas and while living in Tulsa he attended Tulsa Baptist Temple. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis R. Jones in December 2009 and his grandmother, Geneva Jones in March 2010. He is survived by his mother, Jerilynn Jones of Brownfield two sisters, Jessica Staples of Weatherford, TX and Jennifer Appel of Sugar Land brother, David Jones of Temple three nieces and four nephews. The family suggest memorial be to Tulsa Baptist Temples Benevolence Fund, Tulsa, OK 74101.
