Carolyn Ann Blankenburg, 73 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:30 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev Jerry Howe, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Carolyn was born October 9, 1941 in Wichita Falls, TX to Roy and Inez (Herrington) Harvey. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1964. She was united in marriage on June 3, 1961 in Lefors, TX to Lee Blankenburg.
Carolyn was Valedictorian and National Merit Scholarship Nominee. She enjoyed activities such as gardening, traveling and was an avid reader. Carolyn dedicated her life to her family and was a member of First Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Lee, of the home; a daughter: Laura Lee Blankenburg of Seminole, TX; two sons: James Roy Blankenburg and wife Davie of Amarillo, TX, Michael Wayne Blankenburg and wife Kelli of Cypress, TX; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four sisters; and one brother.
The family will be 218 Bailey.
