Carolyn Jean Rummel, 74 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 1:30 in the afternoon on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Dumas Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 2 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.Carolyn was born on September 27, 1947, in Greenboro, North Carolina to Albert and Jewel (Hinson) Claycomb. She married Gene Rummel on September 30, 1967, in Quanah, TX. Carolyn was very much a “take charge kind of lady.’ She loved her grandchildren and was enormously proud of them. Her interests included quilting and her group she quilted with the “Quilting Bee’s”. Carolyn was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she was very active in both church and as the secretary; her leadership will be missed.She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Linda Weaver.Carolyn is survived by her husband, Gene, of the home; son: Michael Rummel of Dumas, TX; daughter: Michele Plunk and husband Dennis, Jr. of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Landri Hallford and husband Tanner and Trevor Rummel all of Dumas, TX; extended family members: Russell Gadbois, Karen Rummel, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.The family requests with gratitude memorials be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 207 S.
