C.E. Gene Lessly

C. E. Gene Lessly - 93 passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2007 in Dumas, Texas. Services will be held at 4:30 P.M., Saturday, June 16, 2007 at First Street Church of Christ with Roger Lessly, his nephew officiating, assisted by Gordon Clark, elder in the church. Burial will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. C.E. Gene Lessly was born November 28, 1913 in Newalla, Oklahoma to Robert and Frieda Lessly. On February 7, 1947 he married Phyllis Counts who preceded him in death. He worked as a pipe fitter for Phillips Petroleum before retiring. Gene had been a resident of Moore County since 1949 and was a member of First Street Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his brother Ozzie Lessly. Survivors include: daughter Cathy Chesser and husband, Bryan of Dumas; sister, Rholine Hinson of Tecumseh, OK; two grandchildren, Jason Chesser and wife Shannon, and Jena OGuinn and husband, Cody; three great-grandchildren, Ainsley OGuinn, Gracelyn Chesser and Cy Chesser. Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 608 Pear in Dumas.
