Charlie Eugene “Chuck” Baze, 85 of Dumas passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 12 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
Chuck was born on July 26, 1936, in White Hall, IL to Charles and Alice Baze. As a young man, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served 21 years until his retirement. While in the Navy, he served tours in both Vietnam and Korea. After he retired from the Navy, he went to work for Natural Gas Pipeline where he also retired. Chuck loved to fish and keep a very big garden. He had two mottos he stood by the first was “if you borrow something, you take it back like you got it, if not better. The second one was “if you put something back where you got it, you’ll be able to find it the next time you need it.” He was famous for saying both. Chuck will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Bob and Vernon.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; sons: Wayne Baze and wife Teresa of Willits, CA, Charlie “Chuckie” Baze, Jr. and wife Tammy of Amarillo, TX; daughter: Shannon Baze of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Melissa, Nicole, Rebecca, Tiffany, Michael, Justin, Hunter, Lauren; siblings: Jim, Beebe, Dot, Joe, Tim, and Jack.
