Chris Eugene Moreland

Chris Eugene Moreland, 67, of Dumas, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 in Amarillo, TX. Private family services are scheduled for a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas.

Chris was born May 10, 1956, in Canyon, TX to LeeRoy and Mattie Louise (Houpt) Moreland. Following high school graduation, he pursued his dream of becoming a paramedic. Chris loved being a paramedic and would retire from the service. He was an avid gun enthusiast who truly believed in the right to bear arms. Chris really enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time in the mountains where he could snow ski and fish. He would do anything for anybody, but his true passion was in his grandchildren whom he would drop any event just to spend time with them. Chris was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dumas and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents LeeRoy and Mattie.

Chris is survived by his brother: Andy and wife Sue Moreland of Amarillo, TX; daughter: Kellin and husband Clayton Fox of Dumas, TX; son: Brynn and wife Anita Moreland of Amarillo, TX; niece: Mikie and husband CJ Olivarez; nephew: Johnny and wife Stephanie Gibson all of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren: Averi, Colt and Reese Fox all of Dumas and Easton and Maverick Moreland of Amarillo, TX; great niece and nephew: Lauren Grace and Luke Olivarez of Amarillo, TX and great grandson: Ian Hernandez of Dumas. 

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Oceans Behavioral Hospital, 7501 Wallace Blvd Ste B., Bushland, TX 79124.
