Claude L. Washburn 75 passed away Friday, April 25, 2008 in Amarillo, Texas. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Oscar Gongora, elder of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Claude L. Washburn was born December 6, 1932 in West Columbia, Texas to James and Lonie Washburn. He served in Korea from 1950 to 1953 with the US Army. On August 30, 1963 he married Glenda Rodgers in Clayton, NM. He was a driller on oil rigs for over 40 years before his retirement. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball. He loved flowers and was a devoted Grandfather. Survivors include; his wife, Glenda; daughter, Lynn Harman and husband, Jamie of Dumas; sisters, Micky Hall of Lubbock and Faye Kirkland and husband, Ben of Bowie; brother, James Washburn and wife Donna of Brownwood; sister-in-law, Myrna Washburn of Dumas; grandsons Keagan and Hayden Harman of Dumas; and several nieces and nephews, including David Washburn of Dumas. He was preceded in death by his brother Floyd Washburn. The family will be at 713 Bennett in Dumas.
