Claudine Terry, 94 of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 4 o\x92 clock in the afternoon on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Darrell Wait, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Opal Claudine Simpson Terry was born on September 7, 1920 to Opie and Mary (West) Simpson in Healdton, OK. She and her family moved to Dixon Creek, near Borger, where she grew up. She graduated from Borger High School in 1937 and married Willie Rhea Terry on February 2, 1939. Claudine went on to receive her Bachelor\x92s Degree from the University of Arkansas and then her Master\x92s Degree from West Texas State University. She taught for over 31 years in Borger and in Dumas. She loved doing genealogy, quilting and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and two brothers.
Claudine is survived by her children: Sylvia Terry Banks of Yukon, OK and Bryan Terry and wife Gerri of Amarillo; one sister: Joyce Simpson Pattillo; five grandchildren: Terry and Colleen Banks of Utah, Jay and Teresa McKinney of Kansas, James and Tammy Banks of Texas, Robert Terry and William Terry both of Amarillo; eleven great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.
