Clinton Robert Hughes

Clinton Robert Hughes, 68 of Dumas passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Watson, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Clinton was born on August 30, 1954 in Olton, TX to Russell and Velma Hughes. He had lived in Dumas most of his life and it was where he met and married Kathy Pearson. They married on January 5, 1985 and made Dumas their home where they raised their children.

Clinton loved riding motorcycles and fishing with his dad and brother. God gave him the gift of humor; he loved to keep the mood light with jokes. He was of Christian faith and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded death by his parents; brother: Emery Hughes; step-son: Jerry Lynn Stuart.

Clinton is survived by his wife, Kathy of the home; daughter: Vonda Hustead of Jasper, AR; son: Paul Daniel Stewart of AR; brother: Philbert Hughes and wife Linda of Olton, TX; sisters: Avis Maureen Ritchie of Laplata, MD and Jeanne Carol King and husband Will Colorado Springs, CO.
