Daniel Thomas “Danny” Cook, 67, of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o’ clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Sunray Church of Christ in Sunray, TX with Darrell Gray and Howard Patton officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. A family visitation will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 5 to 7 o’clock in the evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson-Morrison Funeral Directors.
Danny was born in Knox City, TX on April 26, 1954, to Launa Guy and Lena Faye (Evans) Cook. After graduating high school, Danny worked on the family farm with his father. On August 17, 1973, he married the love of his life, Tedenne Cox in Tulia, TX. In 1978 they made Dumas their home of 43 years and raised their family while Danny worked on his father-in-law's farm. He earned numerous technical certifications and began his life of working on heating and air conditioning units in the area. In 1993 began his 29-year career with Dumas ISD maintenance department.
He was known to be somewhat ornery, but very trustworthy and a person to call for questions concerning air conditioners and heaters as well as rifles. Danny was an “avid” hunter and a very accomplished archer. He was a member of the Texas Archery Hall of Fame. His hobbies included hunting, reloading and outdoor cooking, but his true passion was his family. Danny was a loving and fair dad whose proudest moments were sharing the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He attended Sunray Church of Christ and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents Danny is preceded in death by a grandson: Kayle Wade Cook.
He is survived by his wife Tedenne of the home; son: Jason and wife Autumn Cook of Dumas, TX; daughter: Anita and husband Jason Morton of Merkel, TX; brothers: Gary Cook and wife Colene of Brownfield, TX, Lonnie Cook of Olten, TX and Paul Cook and wife Betty of Glendale, AZ and their spouses: grandchildren; Haven and husband Wes Britt of Scottsdale, AZ, Calla Cook of Dumas, TX, Brady and Kinley Morton of Merkel, TX; great-grandson: Everett Britt of Scottsdale, AZ
The family suggests with gratitude that in lieu of flowers; memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
