Daphne 'Angie' Freeman, 89 of Dumas, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at First Assembly of God with Rev. Damon Akins, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in Stratford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock in the evening on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Angie was born on August 11, 1927 in Stopsley, Bedfordshire England to James and Ellen Eliza (Trigg) Lowe. She was united in marriage to Kennith Freeman in February 23, 1945 in Luton, Bedfordshire and came to America in 1946 as a warbride. The couple would eventually move to Dumas. Angie loved painting, gardening, hummingbirds, daffodils and butterflys. She was extremely proud of her British heritage and had a deep love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was a member of First Assembly of God and will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, son Mitchel Freeman, her parents and her siblings.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon Jones of Sumas, Washington; daughter-in-law Etta Freeman of San Leon, TX; grandchildren: Dusti Soots of Houston, TX; Charles Lindsey of Dumas; Michelle Lee of League City, TX; Roylena Freeman of Bacliff, TX; and Coby Freeman of Fritch; 10 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
