Darlene Cecil, 71, passed away Friday, December 3, 2010. Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas. Rev. Sam White, pastor of North Plains Christian Church will be officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Monday at Terrace Cemetery in Post, Texas with Rev. Sam White officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Darlene was born on October 26, 1939 in Wellington, Texas to Ernest Lester Dodd and Jimmie Lee Thomas Dodd. Darlene married Jerry Dale Courson on November 2, 1955 in Borger. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2000. She was a resident of Post until 2001 when she moved to Dumas. On May 25, 2002 she married Raymond Kelley Cecil in Dumas. Darlene was a homemaker and she loved taking care of her home and family. She was a beloved devoted wife, mother grandmother. She was a member of North Plains Christian Church.
Darlene was preceded in death by her grandparents and parents, and three brothers, Ernest Duane Dodd, Lester Lee Dodd, and Tony Maron Dodd.
Survivors include: husband Raymond of the home sons, Steve Courson and wife Pat of Little River, Arkansas and Jason Cecil and wife Lana of Hutto, TX daughters, Teresa Pace and husband Dusty of Kemp, TX and Erin Norris and husband Steve of Amarillo sisters, Rosie Jeter and husband Luther of Dumas and Mary Trevino of Dalhart grandchildren, Sheri Sutton and husband Randy of Princeton, TX, Chad Hollis and wife Ashley of Kemp, TX, Shane Courson Patrick Courson of Howardwick, TX, Allysa Cecil of Hutto, TX and Kelton Norris of Amarillo greatgrandchildren, Micheal, Cassidy, Katie and Chance Hollis a special aunt, Tincy Dodd of Dumas two sisterinlaws, Linda Dodd and Betty Sue Dodd and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
