David Alan Crain, 67 of Channing, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Saddle Mountain Cowboy Church in Channing, TX with Pastor Dan Shipley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
David was born on July 18, 1956, in Borger, TX to Wilmer and Joyce (Baumann) Crain. During his junior high years, the family relocated to Dumas where he graduated from Dumas High School with the class of 1974. David married Debra Bevers in 1975 in Tucumcari, NM. David went to work for Southwest Public Service as a lineman and retired as the regional manager after 31 years of service. David and Debbie enjoyed all types of animals and had everything from birds, guinea pigs, dogs and horses. He was also a very accomplished woodworker and could fix just about anything, a real jack of all trades. He worked as a butcher when he was younger and would still process his own animals. He was a member of Saddle Mountain Cowboy Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Terry; and sister: Karen.
David is survived by his wife, Debbie, of the home; son: John David Crain of Amarillo, TX; daughter: Danon Rainwater and husband David of Channing, TX; grandchildren: Cody Crain, Levi Crain, Dakota Crain, Shaeleigh Rainwater and Emri Rainwater along with numerous other extended family members.
