Dawson “Doc” Lee Stubbs 72 formerly of Sunray, TX passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Lane Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Dumas Noon Lions after the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
Dawson, known to his friends and fraternal brothers as "Doc", was born in Henryette, Oklahoma. Later in life, he moved to Amarillo, Texas and then relocated to New Braunfels, Texas, a town just outside of San Antonio sometime in 2020.
"Doc" was very active in the community from his work with Texas DPS, Amarillo Police Department, Potter County Sheriffs Office and lastly, the Texas Tech Health and Science Center. He was a valued member of Amarillo Masonic Lodge #731 and an active member of Khiva Shrine since 1998, the Royal Order of Jesters, the Coors Cowboy Club, and was a past President for Texas Panhandle Police Officers Association.
When he finally took a break, you could find him riding motorcycles or playing racquetball, even when he was not supposed to.
Dawson enjoyed going out with his friends and favorite Cousin Pam Goolesby. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He especially enjoyed jamming to Alexa and sharing his desserts with Aiden. Dawson is very loved and already greatly missed.
"Doc" is survived by: Two children: Carmen Napp and Marcus Stubbs. Four grandchildren: Dori Gilbreath and her husband Josh, Thomas Napp, Erin Napp and Brenna Stubbs and Three great grandchildren: Mireya Valenciano, Aiden, and Delaney Gilbreath.
The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to favorite charity.
