Deborah "Minnie" Wood Copelin, 82 of Sunray, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 oclock in the afternoon on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Jerry Lane officiating. Interment will follow at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Dumas on Sunday from 4 oclock to 6 oclock in the evening. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Minnie was born on April 3, 1937 in Burneyville, OK to Lum and Ima (Kitchens) Wood. She was united in marriage to Wayne Copelin on February 5, 1956 in Tulia, TX; the couple would eventually move to Sunray where they would make their home. She loved being outdoors and spending time in Red River fishing. Minnie was also a great cook and was known for her fried chicken. Minnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and loved being around her family and grandchildren. She was also very proud of her Cherokee and Choctaw heritage and was of Christian faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.
Minnie is survived by her husband Wayne, of the home; son: Larry Copelin and wife Sherri of Sunray; daughter: Lisa Copelin of Sunray; grandchildren: Summer Kelly and husband Cliff of White Deer, and Lane Copelin and Kelly of San Antonio; great-grandchildren: Averi, Addison, Liam, and Zoie.
The family suggests memorials be made to Memorial Hospice, 224 E 2nd, Dumas TX 79029 or to the donor's charity of choice.
