Delores Sims, 77 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Ninth & Bliss Church of Christ. A Private family interment will be held at Hartley Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Delores was born on August 20, 1938, in Abilene, TX to John and Neva (Heath) Lovinggood. She was raised and educated in Pampa where she graduated from Pampa High School. On April 24, 1958, she was united in marriage to David Sims in Pampa, TX; he preceded her in death 2010. Delores had been a resident of Dumas and the panhandle area all of her life. She worked as a legal secretary for the District Attorney's Office and then for the District Clerk's Office until her retirement. Delores loved flowers and was a member of 9th and Bliss Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, David, she is preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and sisters.
Delores is survived by her daughters: Denise Cummins and husband Terry of Dumas, Donna Christie and husband Irl of Amarillo, and Desiree Sims of Dumas; brother: Dewayne Lovinggood and wife Linda of Alvin; grandchildren: Cale Christie, Will Cummins and wife Meagan, Brian Cummins, David Woods and wife Cortni, and Kaylyn Vines; four great-grandchildren: and constant companion: Honey.
The family suggests memorials be to Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018 or Memorial Hospice, 224 E 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029.
