Delton Emmett, 75, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 11, 2010 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors . Delton Emmett was born January 16, 1934 in Wilbarger County, Texas to Claude and Lula Emmett. He was a graduate of Dumas High School in 1951. He served in the US Army 1956 to 1958 during the Korean War. On June 18, 1954 he married Glenna Harrell in Dumas. He retired January 1, 1995 after 43 years at Northern NaturalEnron as Director of Field Operations. He was a lifetime member of Dumas Noon Lions Club and past president of Guymon Lions Club. He was a current board member of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Dumas. Delton loved fishing and football games. He had been a resident of Dumas and Moore County since 1943 when his family moved to the old Carbon Black Plant. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carolyn Chambliss in August 1997. Survivors include his wife, Glenna of the home and daughter, Claudia Emmett Hamberlin and husband, Cliff of the Woodlands. The family suggest memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029 or Meals On Wheels, PO Box 1535, Dumas, TX 79029 or to a favorite charity. The family will be at 500 Bradley in Dumas.
