Don Martin

Don Martin 84 of Dumas passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 clock in the morning on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Church of the Nazarene with Steve Swanson, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Don was born on July 24, 1934 to Earl and Ruth (Bowers) Martin in Honeygrove, TX. He moved to Dumas at a young age where he would live the rest of his life. In 1967 was united in marriage to Ernestine in Clayton, NM. Don was employed at Diamond Shamrock for over 36 years until his retirement in 1996. Family was very important to Don; he adored his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy; he especially loved to spend time in the yard with Ernestine. Don will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Betty Davis and a son: Ricky Smith. Don is survived by his wife, Ernestine of the home; daughters: Pam Shelledy of Utah and Criss Yon and husband Phil of Highland Village; son: Kelley Martin of Amarillo; brother J.W. 'Jug' Martin and wife Hazel; grandchildren: Bailee Martin and husband John Romo; Brekken Martin and wife Payton; Colbee Martin and husband Quentin Persinger; Connor Martin, Lyndel Laycock, Brandy Smith, and Stephanie Menzo and husband Nick; and 7 great grandchildren.
