Don McEntire

Don McEntire, 71, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, July 2 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Don was born April 12, 1939 at Reydon, Oklahoma to Huston and ImaJean McEntire. He attended school in Dumas. On July 31, 1959 he married Dorothy Dot Fickel in Dumas. He worked in maintenance at Memorial Hospital before his retirement. He enjoyed camping and was very proud of his family. Don had been a resident of Dumas for 64 years. Survivors include his wife Dot of the home sons, Donnie McEntire and wife Cathy, and Curt McEntire and wife Sandra all of Dumas his daughter, Brenda Rachels of Dumas grandchildren, Abby McEntire, Britt McEntire, Tasia McEntire, Coby McEntire, Jennifer Rachels all of Dumas, Scott Rachels of Amarillo greatgrandchildren, Brenli Curbo, Camden Montoya, Shaylee Rachels, Jaden Rachels all of Dumas brother Freddie McEntire of Lubbock. Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX. 79029. The family will be at 1228 N. Maddox in Dumas.
