Don Sumrow

Don Sumrow, 87 of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Seminole. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Don was born on March 1, 1934 in Celeste, TX to D.E. and Hope (Fleming) Sumrow. He attended school and graduated from ODonnell High School. After high school, Don joined the United States Army and served in field artillery. Don worked as a farmer for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved spending time with his family. His family will remember him as being quite a character. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother. Don is survived by his children: Julie Flower of Metairie, LA; sons: Jeff Sumrow and wife Shanna of Dumas, TX, Jerry Sumrow of Slidell, LA, Donna James of Seminole, TX, Sadie Sumrow of Ingelside, TX; brothers: Elmer Sumrow of Seminole, TX and Bobby Sumrow of Amarillo, TX; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
