Doris Fern Dow

Doris Fern Dow, 76 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Price, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 o’clock to 4 o’clock in the afternoon at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.Doris was born on December 2, 1944 in Reed, OK to Floyd and Grace (Mitchell) Barton. On June 20, 1962, she married the love of her life, Ronald Dow in Dumas, TX; he preceded her in death in 2015. The couple established and operated Dow’s Upholstery for over 30 years. She valued her family and time spent with them. She was a room mother for her children all through school as well as volunteered her time as a youth leader at Calvary Baptist Church. Doris loved to cook and was well known for her homemade pizza. Faith was also very important to Doris. She loved her church and was an active member of First Baptist Church. Doris will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.In addition to her husband, Ronald, she was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren: John Paul Jones and Sarah Jane Jones. Doris is survived by her three daughters: Kathy Jones of Amarillo, Sandi Allen of Dumas,TX and Mattye Calvery and husband James of Dumas, TX; seven grandchildren: Kristina, Eric, Jennifer, Tashya, Christopher, Skylar and Shaela; eight great grandchildren: Mykia, Kadince, Sareenah, Evan, Everett, Daxton, Acelyn, Zeplyn, and Carter.
