Doris Grider, 84, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 in Dumas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 27 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. John H. Sanders, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Doris Grider was born May 8, 1925 at Dodge City, Kansas to Wiley Eugene and Jennie Minerva Bittick. On November 19, 1943 she married Billy K. Grider at Amarillo, Texas. He preceded her in death. She loved to play the piano and was always involved in making crafts. She was a long time member of the church choir. Doris had been a resident of Dumas and Moore County since 1959 and was a member of First United Methodist Church . She was also preceded in death by her sister, Eula Bittick. Survivors include her sons, Dan Grider and wife Cindy of Ft. Collins, Colo, David Grider and wife, Rhonda of Wake Forest, NC, Steve Grider and wife Mini of Dumas brother, Claude Bittick and wife Yvonne of Amarillo grandchildren, Amy, Emily, Michael and fiancee, Rachel, Billy, Alex, Jonathan and Samuel three greatgrandchildren, Macie, Kirsten and Kaden. The family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 395, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 510 Floyd in Dumas.
