Dorothy Brown, 79, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010. Services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 27, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Foster, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Dorothy was born January 29, 1931 in Tupelo, Oklahoma to Luther and Margaret Turner. On September 18, 1948 she married Kenneth Brown in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She loved to work on craft projects. She was a great seamstress and was always creating clothes for her kids at every stage of their lives. Dorothy was a charter member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 9022. She had been a resident of Moore County since 1948 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ella Lee Turner, Evelyn Cours, Jean Gray and brother, Donald Turner.
Survivors include: her husband Kenneth of the home son, Michael Brown and wife, Sheryl of Brock daughters, Karan Swint of Lubbock, Stephanie Williams and husband, Greg of Hoffman Estate, IL brother, Billy Jim Turner of Woodville grandchildren, Staci Tyler, Ty Brown, Tanner Swint, Jennifer Williams, Brittany Williams, Christopher Williams greatgrandchildren, Mattye, Torrye and Case Tyler.
The family suggests memorials be to Moore County Health Foundation, Dialysis Fund, PO Box 782, Dumas, TX 79029.
