Dorothy M. Stout, 86 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 o\x92 clock in the morning on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Hunt Memorial United Methodist Church with Keith Hight, pastor of the church, officiating. A Graveside Service will be at 2 o\x92 clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas.
Dorothy was born on January 27, 1929 in Denver, CO to Michael and Louise Weingarten. She attended school at Union High #1 in Adams City, CO and went to work at Swift & Co. in Denver. Dorothy married Robert D. Stout in 1949 and he was associated with Swift & Co. for 31 years before his death in 1978. She was a charter member of Dumas Auxiliary #3956, Fraternal Order of Eagles and later a member of Aerie #3956, F.O.E., where she served as a treasurer for a number of years. She was also a charter member of Dumas VFW Aux. #9022 where she served as conductress for 15 years and a member of Chapter #145 Order of the Eastern Star in Westminster, CO since 1953. Dorothy was a member of Hunt Memorial United Methodist Church, serving as treasurer since 1990.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Walter & Henry Weingarten.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda Ytuarte of Arlington, TX ; Karen Algorri of La Mirada, CA; Nancy & Randy Brown of Dumas, TX; and Robin & David Kehoe of Horseshoe Bay, TX. She is also survived by one son, Rick Stout of Redondo Beach, CA; a sister, Lillian \x93Babe\x94 & Elmer Woody of Denver, CO; a brother, Roy and Deanna Weingarten of Westminster, CO; a sister-in-law, Helen Weingarten of Denver, CO; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggest memorials be to Hunt Memorial United Methodist Church in Dumas, TX.
